On February 20th, 2026 took place the Valdarno di Sopra Day, the annual event reserved for the press, dedicated to the presentation and tasting of the new vintages of Valdarno di Sopra DOC. The event was held at the Anfiteatro de Il Borro, offering journalists an immersive experience in one of the most interesting and dynamic areas of Tuscan viticulture.
Valdarno di Sopra DOC is a young denomination, officially recognized in 2011, but with deep roots in the winemaking history of Tuscany. The vineyards stretch along the Arno River, within the triangle formed by Florence, Siena, and Arezzo, an area that has been devoted to winemaking for centuries.
The denomination is distinguished by a strong territorial identity and a shared production vision, based on respect for the environment and the enhancement of indigenous grape varieties. The producers of the Consorzio di Tutela Valdarno di Sopra DOC have voluntarily and collectively chosen to adopt organic practices as a guiding principle, placing the territory at the centre of every agronomic and winemaking decision.
Valdarno di Sopra Day represents a moment of direct dialogue between producers and specialized press, designed to explore the style, evolution, and expressive potential of the denomination’s wines. The event format emphasizes tasting and in-depth discussion, in an intimate and highly professional setting.
The experience begins the evening before with the arrival of guests in the area and continues with a full day entirely dedicated to tasting Valdarno di Sopra DOC wines, offering a comprehensive overview of the upcoming vintages.
On this occasion, Il Borro presented to the press the new vintages of Polissena Valdarno di Sopra DOC 2021, Petruna in Anfora Valdarno di Sopra DOC 2021, and Il Borro IGT Toscana 2022.
