Valdarno di Sopra DOC in Anfora
A Sangiovese that recalls the past and the winemaking culture of Tuscany. Vinification is carried out exclusively in Tuscan terracotta amphorae. Maceration on the skins lasts 12 months, during which the interaction with the clay and the micro-oxygenation delineate its balance and minerality.
The product
The 2020 vintage began with a dry and warm winter, with high temperatures that continued all over spring until May, when they were broken up by a series of heavy downpours that lasted until June and then gave way to a really hot summer. Despite a series of storms at the beginning of September, thanks to an early harvest the quality of the grapes was excellent.
Food Pairings
Petruna in Anfora pairs perfectly with traditional Tuscan meat dishes, but is also excellent for accompanying bread or legume soups. It can also be served with aged and blue cheeses.
